Sylvia Tatum Edwards Ann Scholarship

This scholarship is presented by the family of Sylvia Tatum Edwards in her memory. Mrs. Edwards served as administrative assistant to Chancellor Joseph Oxendine, Chancellor Allen Meadors, and the College of Arts and Sciences, consecutively, for 24 years. This scholarship is established to continue her legacy of philanthropy and advocacy for education. It was her desire to graduate from a four-year institution; and, although she was not able to accomplish this, she lived a life of intentionally assisting others to attain this goal. She loved working in the educational environment, she loved the students and enjoyed being a life-long learner. The recipients of this scholarship must be a resident of North Carolina and a student in the College of Arts and Sciences in good academic standing with the University. The scholarship will be awarded to one student for $1000 per academic year.
