Fredrick (Freddie) Paul Deese Endowed Scholarship

The Donors wish to honor the memory of their beloved Freddie Deese by establishing the Fredrick (Freddie) Paul Deese Endowed Scholarship. Freddie left this world too early and this endowed scholarship will honor his memory for years to come. He was an outstanding person with many responsibilities. He loved music and played the guitar wherever he went. Freddie graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. He continued his educational pursuits and received a Masters of Art in Teaching from UNC Pembroke in 2008. He was a probation officer and later taught history at Purnell Swett High School.

The Fredrick (Freddie) Paul Deese Endowed Scholarship will be awarded to a full time or part time student pursuing a degree in History, Science, Technology, Education or Math. The recipient will be a North Carolina resident consideration will be given to residents of Robeson County who graduated from a Public Schools of Robeson County high school. The recipient will have the University Minimum GPA, be in their Freshman year of study, and have a financial need. The award is renewable as long as the recipient maintains the University Minimum GPA.
