Dr. Warren Baker Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education

Dr. Warren Baker had a long and successful association with UNC Pembroke. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Advanced Teaching Certificate in 1975 at UNCP, and held several significant administrative posts on campus including Admissions Counselor, Director of Admissions, Director of Institutional Research and Planning, Director of University-School Partnerships, Interim Dean of Education, and Dean of Education. The recipients of the Dr. Warren Baker Endowed Scholarship for Teacher Education will be undergraduate students majoring in the Teacher Education Program and residents of North Carolina. Preference will be given to graduates of Bladen, Cumberland, or Robeson County public schools. Recipients shall be full-time undergraduate students, maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA. The award will be made half in the fall and half in the spring and is renewable as long as funds are available and the recipient continues to meet the criteria.
