Dr. Harold David Maxwell Scholarship in Biology

This scholarship is established by the family, colleagues and friends to honor the memory of Dr. Harold David Maxwell, a distinguished professor of Biology. Dr. Maxwell joined the UNC Pembroke faculty in 1967 and spent over fifty years with the university until his tragic passing in 2020. This scholarship was established to continue the legacy of Dr. Maxwell’s work by supporting students that excel academically but experience financial need.

The recipient will be a full-time freshman or sophomore pursuing a degree in Biology. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have at least a 3.0 QPA. This scholarship will be awarded each fall and is renewable if the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements.
