Native STEPS Agriculture Scholarship

This scholarship is funded by the Native American Agriculture Fund. The Native STEPS scholarship will fund student expenses up to $4,500. This scholarship is not renewable.

Application Requirements:
o Minimum GPA of 2.5
o Demonstrate financial need
o Enroll as a student in one of the UNCP Agricultural Sciences, Bio Science with emphasis in Ag.120-credit hour degree
programs
o US citizen or permanent resident
o Indicate tribal affiliation and if they are a first-generation college student
Scholarship Requirements:
o Maintain minimum GPA of 3.0
o Attend all UNCP Thomas E-Hub agriculture and financial literacy workshops
o 8-week paid summer internship (20 hours per week)
o Attend bi-weekly meetings with program mentors
o Attend tutoring sessions when recommended by program mentors
o It is also highly recommended to complete the entrepreneurship courses (ENTR-2000,
ENTR-2100, ENTR-4000)
