Sarah Locklear Lowery Scholarship

The Donors wish to recognize Mrs. Sarah Locklear Lowery by honoring her life as a long-time educator and one of the first 500 graduates of Pembroke State College (now UNC-Pembroke). Mrs. Lowery was an elementary school teacher for over 32 years; 28 years with the Public Schools of Robeson County in North Carolina and 4 years with the Baltimore County Schools in Maryland. She is a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and has been active in community service projects all her life. The recipients will be either full or part-time undergraduate students maintaining a 3.0 University GPA standard. There is no restriction of residency, major, or year of study. This award is based on demonstrated financial need.
