Pat and Judy Corso Endowed Scholarship

Patrick Corso served as a Trustee for the University of North Carolina and also as Chairman of the Board. Over the course of his career Mr. Corso has provided leadership to the university, the region and state. Both he and Judy are long standing members of the Pinehurst Community. Most of Pat’s career was spent in the resort and hospitality industry and while President of Pinehurst Resort in Country Club he served as General Chairman of the 1999 US Open Championship. In 2003 Mr. Corso was named one of 40 North Carolina Tourism Leaders of the 20th Century by Appalachian State University and received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine in 2021.

Judy Corso’s mother and three sisters had long careers as educators. Judy served as an elementary school teacher in the Moore County School System for over 25 years. Her career in education has inspired them to help improve education outcomes in this region by establishing the Pat & Judy Corso Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to an academically excellent student with financial need in the School of Education.
